Jim,

Couple things: terminology and brand name.

Terminology: "Seat", "Bushing" etc. etc. terms can be confusing.
The bottom line is no matter what name people call them, there are 2 components:
a. The "Bearing" part (this allows the front wheels to turn R and L on the strut bearing). Use INA, Sachs, or Volvo OEM.
b. The "Cushion" part: basically a steel plate coated with rubber. Use BOGE or Volvo OEM.

"Strut mount" and "spring seat" are the terms you will find in > 95% (my estimation!) of the discussions.

bearing = strut mount
cushion = spring seat

It is true that there are various terminologies but fortunately I have never seen a vendor confuse the two, e.g. by calling the spring seat simply a mount!

The hoses/elbows in the PCV system. Aftermarket parts in this system can deteriorate after 18 months or a couple years, whereas OEM parts last 10 years/100k miles. Do it once, do it right, get Volvo parts as much as possible in this system and beware of "unavailable" parts from third party supplies.

FYI, Volvo suspension parts are made by Lemforder.

I am using Lemforder swaybar endlinks, which look identical to Volvo OEM.

How about Delphi for suspension parts? I have to replace front sway bar end links, tie rod ends and inner tie rods. In Rockauto they are really cheap, and I could spend the rest of my budget on a new PCV system.

Yes, I know Volvo original parts are ideal, but they´re really expensive where I live (about four times the price of Delphi).

You´re right...I forgot about Skandix. When I drove a Saab 9000 a lot of folks from a Saab Club recommended Skandix parts. Any experience about suspension parts?

For others from Europe (or even for people in Australia with the euro vs AUD now similar to USD vs AUD) another good supplier from Germany is Rexbo Car Parts.

They have extensive ranges of INA and Febi-Bilstein parts.
