1997 850 wagon blinker assembly failed

Post by Tobers »

the corner blinker assembly on my daughter's 850 wagon just fell out the other day. It was dangling from the car. She duct taped it back in. The little black plastic tab that engages the spring has sheared off. Ideas? I'm guessing 18 years of heat/wear and tear caused it to fail. Thanks! Rick

Aftermarket is TYC brand, seems decent. Check ebay.

Another option is drilling tiny holes and use small telephone wires to hook it back together to body frame.

Rock auto used to carry them, but if the retainer spring is still in tact, you might be able to hook it to the plastic housing a different way. I did this once. I think I drilled a small hole to catch the hook.

I have upper and lower lights I'm parting out from my '96 wagon, which has V70 uppers (clear instead of yellow) and both fronts

Only the v/s 70 had this issue, as the 850 has a nice spring and no tabs. I have lost 2 blinkers like this already! RSPI says in one video that "you should never pass up a turn signal at the junkyard" in his "don't be that guy" video.
