1995 850 turbo wagon dummy lights

Post by borisdadog »

Hi,

New to the board, a couple questions.

ABS and TRACS lights go on intermittently. Shutting down and restarting the car clears them. Mechanic says left rear wheel speed sensor is bad, wants $163 for the part and $90 to replace it. I've read elsewhere on the board about dirty sensors, and searched on-line for parts. Can I check this myself, clean the sensor, etc. I have limited mechanic's knowledge, but I am an engineer, and can figure some stuff out.

Also, Check Engine lights on, mechanic say bad Oxygen sensor. Wants $240 for the part, $65 for labor. Is this a tough repair if I get the part myself?

Thanks for any help you all can provide.

Jerry

I'll look at doing it myself, need to be sure of which sensor, and maybe get a service manual.

Any help for the ABS/TRACS lights? They are randomly intermittent. I may ignore them for a bit.

Thanks again.
