Don't knock the tow hitch. I have an uncle that's installed one on every car he's ever owned, and never owned a trailer that I'm aware of. His purpose was to foil less-than-skilled parallel parkers. Pitch it that way, and it's a selling point.

Ask 3K, settle for something between 2 and 3K. There's always a market for a $2000 car for teens.

You can sell the motor to MattyMoo - he needs one for his compressor...a nice white block should pump up that tank in a jiffy..

I agree about going to Ithaca Foreign Car Service (Volvonly.com). They're great. I bought my '97 855 there about ten years ago from Dave Brumsted and I would do it again in a NY minute.

One year ago, I sold a 96 854T5 in Chicago for $4k. Granted, it was extremely well maintained and very fast. A car like that is worth what the market will pay, particularly in today's very strange used car market.

First post and with a shameless dig-up...

Still own this R of sold it? I had a white R...and sold it, my mistake. Now considdering to find a new one and place it in storage (just like the 850 T-5R and GLT).
