My 85 Volvo 760 (160,000 miles) since i bought it the engine shakes real bad even with the new engine mounts put in. Most of all it sounds like a diesel engine, it has this loud tapping sound when it idles and gets worse with acceleration. I've even overdosed on that Chevron fuel injector, valve cleaner. Anyone else have this problem, any suggestions?

GASOLINE ENGINE SOUNDS LIKE A DIESEL!!!! Topic is solved
I am assuming that you have the V6 engine?
These engines use a chain driven camshaft, it is common for chain drives to make very loud rattlins sounds as they wear and stretch. Sounds like you need the chains and tensioners replaced. The V6 engine was also known for bad camshafts that would wear prematurely, as the cam lobes wear the valve/lifter clearence increases causing "clatter". Again replacement is the solution but this is a major job because the cams have to be removed through the rear of the heads so the engine or the heads must be removed.
