'98 V70 High Beams Out

Post by E Showell »

So the directional/high beam/cruise control stalk seems to have lost its high beam detent. I can flash the highs but it won't keep 'em engaged. Anybody else experience this? I think I'm in for a boneyard replacement.

The high beam switch on the stalk hasn't got a detent.
it's just a momentary. The headlight relay does that job.
If you see brights when you pull back on the stalk, it's ok.
Probably a faulty relay. Do the low beams work?

I believe that if one of your high beam bulbs is burned out, it will not click onto high.

My bad. Fine with the engine running. I was testing with the key on, but engine not running.
