Rear Parking Assist Problem

Post by pptmmt »

This is for my 2004 xc90. My wife backed into a pillar in a garage and hit right on one of the park assist sensors. After that a warning message that says "parking services required" shows up on the dash board. So I took off the rear bumper off today and replaced the sensor that is obviously damaged. But the warning message wouldn't go away. So my question is - do I need to reset the parking assist system to erase the warning message? Or is it possible that more than one of the sensors was damaged?

Any update on this?
I'd guess the sensors should clear the warning if the issue was cleared, so my best guess is another sensor might be bad, or some wires may have become loose/broken...

Hi, Just wondering if you ever got an answer to this. I have a similar issue but I can't get to the sensor easily since the trailer hits is right in the way.
1) Did you have to remove anything to get to the sensor? Looks like my trailer hitch needs to come off.
2) did you have to get the code cleared by the dealer?
Thanks
