99 v70 Rear hatch lock actuator

Hi All,

My rear hatch lock actuator only works when the hatch is in the up position. If I move the hatch down a little bit, the actuator does not lock or unlock. The rest of the locks actuate whether the hatch is up or down. Want to know if anyone has experienced this and to please share the fix.

Likely there is a problem with the wiring that powers the latch. The wiring bundle routes through the hinge and after so many years of opening and closing, wires begin to break down.

Hi erikv11,

Your advice was spot on, I found 1 broken wire and 3 that are held together by the shell, spliced all wires and all is well again.Thank you!!
