2012 S60 T5 fuel pressure DTC

Post by rivertripper »

Good day class, I have a 2012 S60 T5 that threw a P0089 ECM-2900 Fuel pressure faulty signal last week. Took it to dealer I bought it from and they replaced the pressure sensor under warranty.
Drove the car and 1 1/2 hours and check engine light came back on with same code.
I called the dealer and spoke with the mechanic that worked on the car and he said all pressures were good and normal when he had it in there on the Vida and its possibly a bad sensor or wire. I asked him what % the fuel pump was running at and he told me 50%
Now my question is what is the normal % this should run at because this seems high?

Thanks in advance.

Rivertripper,
I also had my fuel pressure pump replaced last week. I wasn't having any problems (in that area before the lite came on). The light suddenly came on and I drove immediately to the car dealer. I don't feel like my car accelerate the same and when my floater on the RPM indicator is sliding between 1 and 2 rpm's my car seems to skip twice (almost like a hesitation). I'm sorry that I am not as mechanically savvy as you are.

2012 S60 T5 is the first year of Denso engine managment and 45-55% is normal. Bosch was 35-42% idling usually.

Keep after them. The pump may be the issue and when it goes weak/binds up the percentage changes. When it is running fine the duty cycle will be fine.
