Remove Immobiliser

Remove Immobiliser

Hi,

My 1998 Volvo V70 Cross Country increasingly stops a few seconds after starting the engine.
After hours, rather days, of internet research it looks like this is almost normal and has something to do with the immobiliser.

We came to the decision we are not interested in whether it is the key or the antenna or dozens of other possible problems and after being repaired another problem may reoccur 3 days later.

We are looking for someone who removes the immobiliser.

Is there anyone who got his immobiliser removed/deactivated? Can you please tell me how and where?

You are going to find it difficult to get someone to do this.

You can probably find the answer here in a few minutes as the failure points of this system are pretty well known.

The same person who has the software to perform module scans can tell you what's wrong.

From my searching here and elsewhere, no one does it and I have yet to be proven with concrete evidence that it could even be done by the average mechanic. :|

Probably not by the average mechanic, but I am really surprised there is not one computer geek in the world who wants the money of all these upset Volvo drivers and sorts the problem.

There aren't that many and people who drive old cars are cheapskates. I've seen people here re-using engine oil and we even have some Scots, too.

If only I could remember who wanted to reuse the motor oil... I think he had a Beetle Convertible, if I recall correctly ;-)

He has been banned for life for cheapness, according to the archives.

OP - if users 'yagger' or 'doublebug' here can't program around your immobiliser you would have to self-program or self-fund someone to do this for you.
