Oil Filter Wrench

Post by zombielinux »

Is there a specific oil filter wrench that everyone uses?

I see a few on amazon:

https://smile.amazon.com/Motivx-Tools-F ... ter+wrench

https://smile.amazon.com/ABN-Compatible ... ter+wrench

These two caught my eye for contact size, price, and durability (appearances)

I should add this would be for an '07 XC70, so this should apply to the V70s too.

Here is the one you want and the one I have...may find it cheaper elsewhere. If you buy from Amazon, use the link here on MVS to help the site!

I have the Assenmacher. The first time I used it on my 2004 V70, the plastic oil filter cap became wedged inside the wrench and was quite difficult to remove. So now I put 3 or 4 washers into the recess of the wrench so the cap doesn't insert so deep as to get stuck.
Les is more.
