So, how did it end up? Found out what was wrong? I'm facing the same problem right now...

This thread is from 2011 so not sure you'll get an answer. I would start from a baseline by installing new cap & rotor(Bosch), plug wires(Bougicord) and plugs(Bosch Platinum or OEM Volvo). FCP has the right parts in a kit. After a basic tune-up and maybe a can of Seafoam in a tank of gas. Then clear the codes and you'll be ready to start troubleshooting if you still have misfires.
