Finally got around to dissecting wildchatmgr's V70 filter...

Bosch 71049
Drilled a 3 mm hole, then zipped around with a jigsaw blade

wow, that fuel filter still had a 100K miles of life left!

I think we seemed to think it was original. 100k interval on the 1999 I believe.

The newer ones are made in a different way. Cost cutting galore...... Inside it's no longer a coil but more like an oil filter with a zig zag style ....even when you buy Bosch which are OEM.
