blower fan stays on? anyone?
I'll turn off my xc70 (2002) and the fan will continue blow air in the car. I won't notice it sometimes and then return to the garage an hour later and its roaring away. Anyone have this happen or have some language for me when I call the dealer to fix it?

This is common...depending on heat, how much A/C you've used, etc., the blower stays on to knock out the air in the lines, get rid of moisture build up and to cool your car. As long as the blower doesn't say on all of the time running your battery down, I'd count this as a blessing and enjoy the new technology in your P2 vehicle. In older 850's this didn't happen and there were and still are people replacing their A/C evaporator from the moisture that eventually rusts out that unit.

Find blowers blasting away hours after ignition off and key removed- both engine and fans in passenger compartment full speed
occasional dead battery which tests OK after jumpt start; alternator also OK

Now, that's not normal. Shorting to a power line somewhere is what I think.

Only the INTERIOR (A/C) fan should blow using the afterblow function and should not use up the battery.JSHIELS wrote:2001 XC70 35000 miles.

It will start about 1/2 hour AFTER you shut the car off and run from 25 to 45 minutes
