1998 C70 Convertible Top Issue

I have a 1998 C70 in great condition, except when opening the convertible top. The motor is working fine, but the top sticks up about an inch when it has completed opening. I understand from Volvo that there are two parts missing called slide dogs (Volvo part #8614632). The top has 2 clips that are supposed to slide into the slide dogs to compress the cop so you can close the flap. Volvo no longer makes this part and I have had no luck with wrecking yards, etc. Any suggestions?

How would the Slide Dogs install? I have never seen that part or a clip for said part so I am curious.

Thank you for the two videos. The first one might possibly work. It looks like the chap is using a bungie cord. I'll let you know the results. The slide dogs are glued to the flat plate behind the rear seats; the area that the folding top goes into. I suspect the slide dogs may have been Volvo's answer to an ongoing issue with their convertible tops not completely receding into this area so that the plate can close, but I'm not sure. Again, thanks a lot for your quick response and the video.
