And the results are in...
Hard downshifting significantly reduced. However, I now have a delayed drive engagement :?
My guess is that I didn't calibrate/measure the SLT solenoid properly. Gonna buy a valve body cover at the bone yard and drill holes into it so I can easily adjust the solenoids.

Yeah that sounds like a pressure issue. You solved that on the S70 in the same way. Best of luck Kallekula!

Ok, somehow I screwed up the solenoids AGAIN. Hooked up the pressure gauge and there is just no way to get a stable pressure around 5-10 psi on idle in park. I can adjust it to that but after shifting it goes up or down when in park again. Off to the boneyard for a new set of solenoids. Gonna take it a little bit easier with the reamer this time. To be continued...

Got a set of new solenoids from the junk yard. Took it really gentle while cleaning them this time. Had to adjust the SLT 6 clicks (1/2 turn) clockwise to get P->D to engage smoothly. Driveway is covered in transmission fluid but it shifts fine now 😀
