Thanks Rox, Matt and everyone else for the feed back and alot of help from Mike S.C. for the additional photos dealing with Odometer Unit without a wire but as mine with a (4) prong plug. I used a paint can opener to unplug. The offset on the can opener worked well.

Everything went as clock work. After installation and test drive I noticed the 1/10 ths do not roll smoothly but rachets almost like a pulse. It advances as it should metering every mile as soon as it clicks to '0'. Is this rachet/pulse as opposed to smooth a characteristic of Volvo odometers? I'd like someones feedback.

Thanks,

Jeff

I purchased the new odomoter gear and installed using these directions. On my test drive I notice that the odomoter whole mileage is now clicking over when the trip meter clears .5 instead of .9. Do I need to reinstall the gear in a position 180 degrees opposite of where it is now? Amy suggestions?

MIJ what he's saying is that the miles (odometer) increment when the 1/10th mile gear (trip meter) shows "5", instead of when it shows "9".

So rtasket, yes, I -- without having ever seen the gears so take my advice with a grain of salt -- would agree that you need to turn the gear 180 degrees.
