XEMODEX and SACER TPS - same design?

Post by EstVolvo »

Is there a difference between the Sacer and the Xemodex TPS design?
I have see many pictures of the ETM with Sacer TPS but no pictures of the XeModex TPS design.

I've seen the Sacer, XeModex and Volvo contactless TPS and the castings and design are identical. Apart from a logo casting change they are the same.

My contact at Sacer tells me that they directly supply to XeModex and Volvo.

When you purchase a rebuilt 36050563 or 36050564 throttle from Volvo it will also have a Sacer TPS with a Volvo logo these days.

Bear in mind that XeModex rebuild the circuit board with new wedge bonding joints, rebuild the magnet and adjust the resting voltage.

Careful, Sacer does have a conversion TPS (SA300) that can be a real PITA.

Wow that's a lot of Anecdata!! :D

Most ETMs are converted to contact-less without thoughtful analysis of the fault codes; at least 60-70% of ETMs have board faults and magnet problems.
