Normal Maintenance Schedule?

OK, not so sure I like the move I made from my '98 S70 to this '02 V70. More electronic thing's to go wrong.
Anyway here is my question of the day;

In the lower left corner of the dashboard there seems to be a living electronic billboard right in my car. After filling the gas tank for the 1st time, now I get constant messages about how many miles I have left to empty. Really? On this same message board, it recently stated that it is "routine maintenance" time again. What exactly does this mean? Normal stuff like an oil change, air filter, spark plugs and the like? She has 145k on her. Timing belt was done back @ 113k.

Try turning the ring on the left stalk.

The maintenance message means it's due for a service or at lest that the message hasn't been reset.

I would back up , go to Volvo manual online, and read all about the cool features your car has.

The P2 is a really well designed , well executed chassis that fixes a lot of P80 shortcomings

Rattnalle, by turning the left stalk will that shut off the message board?

abscate, is that what I now have in a '02 V70? a p2?

By turning the ring on the left stalk you'l be selecting the functions of the optional "computer". Those include miles remaining, average mpg, instantaneous mpg, average speed. Best to read your manual.

Yes, you now own a P2 Volvo. It's said the "P" stands for Platform but I bet it's in Swedish
