What is the best replacement for my stock upper mount on my 99 V70- GLT?
I have read lot's of comments about people putting the IPD unit and later removing it due to vibration and engine roughness.
Is stock the best replacement?

I agree that vibrations are tolerable. You'll only feel them at idle. However, make sure your other engine mounts are in good shape. If they are worn too, that's when you'll really feel the vibrations when you put the poly mount in.

Bear in mind that when you go with a poly upper bushing, not only will you have more vibration at idle (some cars more than others, luck of the draw) but...all the other mounts then take the brunt of the torque and wear out quicker (this is true)

If you go with stock, you'll need a way to push the mount into the metal ring. There is a good write-up on this in the repair database, so make sure and check it out.

I thought I was pretty handy until I tried to install a stock upper torque bushing yesterday. I made a press kind of like what is detailed in the tutorial. I destroyed the bushing in every way possible trying to press it in. I placed an order with FCP for a 3 piece poly. I'll deal with a little vibration. That thing is a pain!
Stock mount/link is indeed a PITA. The FCP/eeuropart urathene replacements are relatively quick and easy to install, although on my S70, they aren't very long-lived. I got about 15k out of my first one. IPD is reported to be better.

I used the stock mount and this is how I did it. Inserting upper engine torque bushing: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/chat/p ... &view=next
Avariation on a theme. Using the Jorgensen clamps made it relatively easy.
I must confess that taking out/cutting out the old mount was far more
difficult than putting in the new mount.[/url]
