No picture...looks like you have to be a paying member to see the pics over on Volvospeed. Why not use ImageShack and post again on this forum?

The pictures look fine. It is so hard to tell from them. I will tell you that on my cars I can't see the brass colored mount at the top but on yours I can, but I really don't think that's it.

Thanks for the comments on the pictures.
it's definitely hard to see anything wrong form these.

More infor on this situation:

Installed my winter tires this weekend.
205/55/16 on my original 16" Metis
drove around and no "spring noise"....
the winter tires are more noisy so...
went to the famous test curve..... no "spring sound"...
so I went again and really wiped it around (fast enough for the rear end to swiing out) and.... no sound

Looks like the "spring sound" is limited to my summer set-up
17" enkei with 235/45/17 tires.
it could be noted that the rear never lost it with this set up...

Totally confused.

Persistent sod isnt it, you have sprayed and checked everything I would have thought of and its still there.

Mine went though one of the yearly MOT tests here in the UK a few weeks back, if they can find a fault to cost/fail they will. No faults found and it is still has the bedspring noise.

He said it went away....well at least for now, with no explanation except a wheel/tire change. I would say that if Murphy's law prevails (as usually it does) the sound will be back.

Murphy is right. The sound is still there but not as present.

It happens when the front end is faced with a road depression.
I observed it this morning on my way to work in a standard Quebec street in an industrial complex (as far away from a pool table as you can get it).

It did not happen on the highway in a depression situation as it used to happen with the summer set-up.

so it's quite specific. not too present. Probably related to spring/strut set-up. I'm finding my set-up a little too bouncy to my taste.. ..

Could it be related to the fact that the winter set-up (higher tiresidewall, smaller wheel, lighter weight, not as steady as summer set-up) is putting less stress on the front suspension?

food for thoughts.

Update

Upgraded the front brakes last night.

The passenger side lower ball joint must be replaced.
Could this be the source of the "noise"....?

Anyway, replacement is planned for next tuesday.

Will keep you posted.
