xc70 125k miles got engine check light w/this code several times after it was erased-car performance and mileage is not affected. No other symptoms detected-car runs normal--SHOULD I IGNORE IT?
I suspect fuel filter is clogged-it is the original filter that has 125k miles-
Big question can this filter trigger this code?
I changed fuel pressure sensor at the end of fuel rail but the code still coming back after erase
My research shows:
P0089 trouble code definition
P0089 is Fuel Pressure Regulator 1 Performance, indicating a problem in the fuel pressure regulator system.
What causes the P0089 code?
Failed fuel pressure regulator
Clogged fuel filter or screen
Restricted fuel lines
Fuel pump output not meeting specifications
code 00089 Fuel Pressure Regulator 1 Performance

Fuel filters on these cars last a long time
Measureand monitor the fuel pressure at the rail to see how the fuel delivery system is operating.
I’ll try to find specs

I am confused regarding this part
Amazon is listing 2 different part names and prices for same part # and shape
which one should I buy to fix my P0089 code?

You need to measure the fuel pressure at the rail to evaluate the performance of the CEM, the PEM, the fuel pump, filter and delivery components. If you just replace parts, your total cost of repair will be between $100-900

I never used a fuel pressure gauge before and not sure if there is a Volvo specific kit or any universal kit will work
Also please indicate where to hook up the gauge hose in order to take the measurements ?
I saw this kit on the ebay -do you think will work for my xc70 2005?

That kit will work but you find similar at Harbor Freight for similar price if you use a 20% off coupon. The 20% off are online, Google it.
The fuel pressure port is towards the front (serpentine belt side) just behind and above upper radiator hose. Looks like a tire valve and should have a grey or blue cap but the original cap could have been replaced by any tire valve cap.
