I'm an owner of a '99 V70. A friend of mine is wanting me to look at a 2006 V70 N/A 2WD A/T with 240k kms. Any advice on what to look closely at? Weak points? future maintenance/repair issues likely? THANKS!
Also any good Volvo repair shop recommendations near Markdale - (between Shelburne and Owen Sound area in Ontario Canada)?

Make sure the timing belt has been done. Check the transmission fluid condition. After a test drive leave the car running and check the oil dipstick tube for pressure or smoke. The intake camshaft seals like to pop out of place getting into this mileage. Front control arm bushings are common wear items. About the same as your current vehicle with more electronics that could possibly fail. Less than an AWD model. If it is kilometers do you say mileage?

If I'm discussing the number of kilometers with someone in USA I usually convert it to miles. For example 244,000kms converts to 151,280 miles. (0.62 X # of kms = # of miles, approx.).
When test driving the car a check engine light appeared that turned out to be P0026 Intake Valve Control Solenoid Circuit Range/Performance Bank 1. So we're having that solenoid replaced.
