The most recent one I saw was for sale on Facebook. I almost bought it, but it was high mileage and I had no room for profit if I were to flip it... no room for any more cars that I can't profit on right now!RickHaleParker wrote: ↑27 Mar 2019, 15:31 No way to be 100% sure. Anything is possible with deep pockets and Custom Ordering.
If you ever come across the color again, run down the owner and get the paint code off the product ID plate. Open the doors, hood and trunk to make sure it is original paint.

Computer monitors are not reliable when it comes to color duplication.
Also, lighting can change the apparent color.

Im pretty sure its impossible to flip a volvo and make a profit. even if only charging 10 bucks an hour for towing and repairs. at best you can get out with only a substantial loss. too expensive to tow and parts. You would have to be taking risks like putting your plates on from your other car and praying. anyone buying a volvo assumes that it needs PVC, rack, fuelpump, heater core, and timing belt, breaks, struts no matter what the seller claims ti have done. plus they know the milage is wrong and the speedo is bad.

Yeah, it's not easy. I haven't flipped a Volvo directly, but I traded my '88 740 for a '99 Miata, which I traded for a 2000 Miata, which I sold at a $2,000+ profit. It took a while, but I made it happen. I was lucky and happy to make out with a profit, but I regret getting rid of that 740. It could have been an awesome car if I put the money into it!tardcart wrote: ↑27 Mar 2019, 18:21 Im pretty sure its impossible to flip a volvo and make a profit. even if only charging 10 bucks an hour for towing and repairs. at best you can get out with only a substantial loss. too expensive to tow and parts. that amazing to find swaps. I always assumed the probability of some one wanting what I have and having something I want to exchange is zero. You have a knack for sales. Wish the tittles could be swapped with out so many risks and peniltys. In the old days of California you signed the registration and the car was transferred, so they would race for "pink slips"( color of the registration card)

Yeah, it’s hard to do that anymore. NC is just getting more strict so you pretty much NEED to register any car you buy. Or at least you need to put the title in your name. Fortunately in SC, titles don’t require notary, so it’s a lot easier to buy or sell a car with an SC title.tardcart wrote: ↑27 Mar 2019, 19:22 that amazing to find swaps. I’m not big on trading, but that one worked out really well! It’s definitely rare to find a good trade.

I had luck with my red 850 using a long soak of Meguiar's #7 Show Car Glaze. As an experiment I removed oxidation by polishing with compound before soaking part of the car, and just soaked without any polishing step on another section. At the end of the process I couldn't see a difference between them, so my conclusion was that you actually don't need to physically remove the oxidized layer to get decent results. If you clear it the red will still fade but you won't actually be able to do anything to restore the colour.
It sounds like you need to actually compound the oxidation off, then polish it, then add a sealant or wax on top. From what you've written and the short duration mentioned it seems to me as if when it fades you are just adding more wax, as opposed to removing the oxidation that causes the faded look.
