Hey does anyone know for sure the Torx size bit for the one screw in the door panel?
The web gives mixed results.
I’ve been driving a Volvo long before anyone ever paid me to drive one.
That's probably because I've been driving one since 2015 and nobody has offered to pay me yet.

Hi,

I went out there and played with it. I found it was really T25 but some sites quote T15.
T25 fit good.

But the problem was that there is a 'wire' cable similar to the hood release cable. The end popped out of the socket it fits into in the door handle you pull out to open the door from the inside.
The reason for that however was that there was some sort of 'clip' that holds it from popping out and it appears to be broken. I am not sure where to get another clip or what it really looks like because it was in pieces that fell apart in my hand.

I stuck the end of the wire back in just to see what would happen and how it works and it will work again if i get a new clip.
I guess i'd need a blow up drawing of that door handle mechanism, just behind the door pull handle on the inside.

I tied it in temporarily but it reallky needs that clip to ensure it works for a long time again.

Any ideas how to see what the clip looks like or where to get one?

Thanks.

Hi Matt,

Thanks. That looks a little similar, but they are not showing the clip.

It does seem though that they are doing their own little fix. Which i guess i will have to do too without the clip unless i can find a drawing for this actual car. It's a v70 1998.

Thanks again.

Piece of tape or a zip tie to secure the control rod?

Take some pictures or find a diagram for reference?

If you pull on a door knob in a forest and nothing happens, does a Volvo somewhere else start to warm the third rear seat?

Eric? Are you there?

Hi there,

Well yes i have it jury rigged for now but i was hoping to get the original part so it stays working for a long time.
If that is possible of course.

That drawing isnt the same either though but thanks.
Maybe i make a drawing so it becomes clear.

Hello again,

Here are three photos.
The one on the far left shows the mechanism before it is removed from the door. You cant see the part in question until that whole piece is removed as shown in the center photo.
The center one has a light blue rectangle drawn around the area in question.
The one on the far right shows the little thing that pops out because something is missing from what holds it in place. The little end is right between his two fingers.
