oil is accumulating on the rubber hoses (at the clamps) that go to the turbo. no change in performance.

what is causing this and what is the remedy?

Do you mean this?
I think this is mostly oil vapor leaking. i've tried to tighten all the clamps but it was still leaking.
I changed with good silicone hoses and T-bolt clamps, works fine.
Someone here suggested that excessive leaking could be the cause of a bad breather system.

My rubber intercooler hoses are nasty... it's not exactly indicative of something wrong, but the hoses should be replaced.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was related to a backed up PCV system... my '01 S60's hose looked similar to the pictured above and that PCV was pretty bad. Plus it makes sense... more blow by=more oil in intake tract=oil-saturated IC hoses.

Nice hoses and clamps. That bottom hard pipe-intercooler pipe is the one that gathers up all the oil and nastiness - if you are on a budget do that one first. The rest you can clean and put new clamps and get away with it.
