2001 V70 base - another failed ETM [dirty ECM pins]

Hey guys
2001 V70 base m56.
This one has me stumped.
It all started when diagnosing a simple battery drain issue and now ETM and radio head unit are not recognized on VIDA.
Allow me start at the beginning. About 6 months ago I replaced wife"s factory radio with one purchased at local scrapper. Her old unit was still functioning fine but since previous owner had painted most of the interior a fluorescent blue for some reason it was my mission to return it to original factory condition and radio was final piece of the puzzle.
At first everything worked fine,,, The radio, and the wife were happy! Months went by and no issues.
Then recently the reports started coming in from wife,, "Hey honey you know the thingy on the dash that tells temp?,, well that stopped". Then "Hey honey you know my central lock? Well that stopped". Then again "Hey honey,, you know the buttons for steering wheel controls? They don't work"
You get the picture,,,Neither the wife or V70 were happy!
Final straw was the battery would drain overnight,, but not every night. Maybe once a week.
At first i thought bad battery and replaced but the issue continued so i sent V70 off to independent Volvo specialist to track down battery drain gremlins.
After a week the owner gets back to me and asks "What did you do to your radio?"
I told him I replaced it with similar unit from different Volvo.
"You Can't do that" He explains. "Gotta put your original back in or problems will continue".
But" I've thrown the the original blue bastard away" I tell him.
"Sorry nothing I can do" he says and continues with "I pulled the fuse 16 that should fix your battery drain.
Fuse 16 is for Radio or AUM on the network... A chill goes up my spine..I get a premonition of things are bad now but are about to get worse

"No Biggie" So I think and try to drive the V70 home.. Well sir,, what an experience that was!
It seems now the V70 hesitates and stalls and nearly un drivable and painfully obvious ETM is offline.
When I get home I put fuse 16 back in and car drive great for a bit then starts stalling again.
So dig into V70 with Autel scanner and find "ETM permanent fault" "MAP fault".
Hook Up VIDA for second opinion and can see that ETM is RED as well as the AUM.
My questions,,, are many.
I don't have original radio,,,It's in landfill. What do I do?
Will fixing radio make network happy and bring ETM back online?
Do I replace ETM?
I think XEMODEX will test for free?
V70 worked fine temporarily when i replaced fuse 16,

V70 drove perfect before visit with independent Shop.

Pretty sure this is a network issue because of my removing original radio.
All thoughts welcome.

I doubt the radio has taken out the bus. Do you have the Magneti Marcelli or the Bosch style ETM on this car?

The MM ETMs fail at about 150k and will cause weird running for about 10,000 miles, then will croak.

Run the ETM test in VIDA and assess the sensor performance

The display stuff and radio is the result of someone messing with it, tats thought to both diagnose and repair. Is there a remote start on the car?

No remote start
I'll try find/ run that test today.
I've used that test before but for some reason i couldn't locate that function in my Vida yesterday.
Of note,, I removed old ETM and put on my spare unknown scrap yard ETM and I think the car actually ran better! Still not right,, but slightly better. Didn't have such a wonky/hunting idle.
I'd have to agree there may be ETM replacement in my future.
I have XEMODEX about an hour away so maybe they can sort it out for me tomorrow?

I did a little digging and it seems the ETM on this car is one of the affected parts numbers and white sticker model means Original?
Car has 357k kms and i did suspension overhaul last winter so it can't be scrapped yet!
Taking ETM to Xemodex this morning.

It could be but there is a date code (format YYWNN) where YY is year, character W and NN is week of manufacture a couple of lines down on the sticker for reference.

I have an update..
So I bit the bullet and purchased a new/rebuilt XEMODEX ETM, I figured this would cure the issues I was having and VIDA was saying ETM had permanent TPS fault. I get it back,, install it then reconnect the battery.
I turn the key and wait for the "snap, crackle, pop" that old ETM would do. But this time i hear just fuel pump kick in and NEW ETM whine as it's functioning properly now.
All is good so i continue with turning key to engine ON position.
Engine turns over,, sputters to life then immediately dies again. I try 2nd time same thing. 3rd try i push accelerator to the floor and release when the engine roars to life,, The engine stays at 1500-1800 rpm then eventually finds 1000rpm and stays there for a moment then dies.
When i blip throttle it's obvious something is still bothering this poor beast.
Time to check why MIL is lit up.
ETM codes are now clear.
Codes pulled are for MAP "permanent fault" and something for A/C line pressure.
I swap in a known good MAP sensor and still having same issues.
Now I look at live data and see that there is really 1.3 volts at idle coming from MAP and that doesn't change with throttle blip.
Any ideas? ECM?

Another update
I called the Indy Volvo Tech that helped me track down battery drain issue and had a chat.
I explained my drive-ability issues I was experiencing and the fact that after replacing ETM and clearing up any doubt it has not been the cause of problems driving with all the stalling at throttle lift and hunting idle.
So as I mentioned there still wasn't any signal for MAP sensor so that was top priority when Indy got working.
He also confirmed he had removed ECM while he was tracking down battery drain problem,, another clue.
So first thing we did was confirm there was no breaks or grounding in the MAP wiring circuit to ECM.
After we were satisfied that wiring wasn't a problem we then turned our attention to ECM pins and sure enough there was 2 pins that didn't look the same as the rest(darker in cooler) and gave them a good cleaning. Coincidentally these pins were part of MAP circuit.
After re installing cleaned up ECM pins and turning key to "engine on" position the car fired up and immediately settled to a nice idle... driving has been restored better than before.
On a side note, before all the ECM drama this car always had O2 bank 2 sensor codes even after i had replaced the O2 sensor it would return so i put it down to bad catalytic. Now there is no sign of O2 issue either??
Lesson learned! so my next purchase will be ECM removal tool so i can service all my Volvo ECM pins

Giddiup kids! This V70 is going to make it to 500k kms if i have it my way
