Valvoline Import Multi Vehicle ATF

Post by BenF » Mon Dec 30, 2019 2:03 pm

The back of the bottle among lots of other specs states that it's recommended for

Toyota T-1V

Mazda JWS 3309

Volvo 97340, 97341, 1161521.

Does that make it suitable for my 01 V70 XC ? I just topped up a little that I lost looking at my B4 servo cover. I'm probably about to drain 4l or so to put in a recon valve body.

I have used it with no problem. It states it meets the specs on the bottle.

I'd use it without hesitation.
In reverse chronological order I've used lots of Valvoline MaxLife Dex/Merc LV (the LV is the thing to note here) in these transmissions.
NOTE: This is NOT an old fashioned, cheap Dex/Merc. The LV has to be on the label.
Mobil 3309. A Virginia parts store ordered it by mistake and I bought the whole case.
Wolf's Head Super Universal Synthetic Transmission Fluid
Toyota T-IV from the dealer

I finally exhausted my 14 gallon supply of MaxLife. AutoZone had a 2 for 1 sale a while back.
My next drain and fill will be with Aisin's own branded fluid.
It's available from IPD and eEuroparts and others.

I had it, and had problems with the fluid shrinking too much in very cold weather - the car would not advance, and also difficult to read the level in warm weather (would always show way above the max level despite having the right amount). It's cheaper indeed, but I would fork a little more for a Toyota type IV or for this ones https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... -1161540kt

Try not flushing it all at once, if you have many miles, and drive inside the city for a while to help the transmission adapt faster (as opposed to long highway drives)
