Picking a 2004 C70 Conv, what parts to get?

Hello all,

I'm going to get jewel headlights/corners and the egg crate grill to use on my 1998 S70, are there any other choice pieces I should be looking for?

Check the dash for a Dolby center speaker. If it has one in good condition pull that as they NLA. Might want to pull the whole dash top as the speaker cover gets fragile. Chances are it may also have the SC-901 head unit and a 4 x 100W amp in the trunk on the drivers side if I recall behind the trunk side panel. Make sure you pull the cable for the speaker too.

If you want them it may have bigger front brake rotors and the important caliper mounts.

The Dynaudio speakers are also good to grab if it has them.

Steering wheel is probably large section diameter, if it's in good shape they "feel" better.

Don't forget the Doby decoder. It will be plugged into the back of the SC-901 head. Just follow the loom to find it.

Get the subframe brace from under the car and install it on your S70. It will stiffed the S70 up.
If you don't want it some 850 owner will.

I forgot about that, definitely grab that brace. Be sure to support the rear of the subframe while removing, since two of the subframe bolts go through it.

Are those subframe bolts single use? Sure feels like it.

What’s the part number on that frame stiffener?

You might take a tape measure and see if it has the 302mm (~12") front brakes on it. The caliper mounting brackets are the only pieces you *really* need, if everything else is junk. Rotors can be bought new, and the calipers are the same as the 280mm ones.

Even if you don't want to do the brake upgrade, someone would buy those brackets.
