Hoping someone can give me some direction. Had an idler pulley go bad and serpantine belt broke. I replaced pulley but cannot get new belt on. I have tensioner as far as I believe I can get it to go and I seem to be about 1 inch short of being able to slide new belt over the final pulley. Is it possible belt is too short. Item number on belt matches part number I need for car...

Belt was an aftermarket 990K6 from Rock Auto. I am trying a different belt but not sure that is the issue....

May try compare the new belt with the broken one, otherwise look at each pulley to make sure the belt sits correctly centered on the pulley

When I did mine, it kept getting hung up near the crank pulley, I had to remove the wheel and fit it there first. It’s easy for it to “feel” ok if not on correctly.

The 5 cylinder belts are cake compared to the 3.2. Took me almost 3 hours to do mine on my 3.2. 10 minutes on my 2.3
