I'd clean the area up and try to if the area is weldable before I remove/replace the pipe.

That pipe is held onto the engine by the 2 bolts that go into the head and that small bracket right in the center of the pipe. The pipe just slips into the water pump housing and is sealed by an o-ring 976045.

The nipple labeled number 3 is actually the return from the heater core and number 4 is the pipe that comes from the turbo, I personally wouldn't bother using volvo heater hose, the stuff from the auto parts store works just fine to replace those. Same goes for the #1 short hose. I just took the old stuff in and found the same size.

Have you found a crack at that joint? Almost sounds more like the hose to the coolant expansion tank is leaking and just dripping down to that area.

Boy, that is one nasty confusing diagram

I though the heater cores connect on the rear of the engine..one off the back of the block, and the return to unlabeled connection near the turbo?

I've never seen a P80 with heater hoses returning to front ride side of engine

Greetings!
I know that this is an old topic, but I have a problem with that pipe and I was wondering if somebody knows of what type of material is made this pipe? Is it aluminum or it's iron? I have a very small crack and I think that if it's made of aluminum It could be soldered...

Thank you very much!
Cheers! :)
