1995 850 Turbo Wagon - OBDII and hatch question

I have a 95 850 Turbo wagon and the computer cover under the center dash reads OBDII - can a reader or scanner be used on this model - I am aware that theses systems are for 96 and newer, but since i have a OBII can i use a OBDII reader and scanner for the check engine light and service light?

Also, any suggestions on why sometimes the remote lock wont lock or unlock the rear hatch from time to time? I can usually get the remote to work on all drivers side or passengers side doors, but it i want to activate the alarm system i must lock all the doors using the key at the back hatch. Sometimes all systems and doors will work will with the remote, but other times the hatch won't lock by remote.

any help would be awesome...

The OBD-II port can be used with any OBD-II scanner for powertrain codes. The underhood boxes are actually more accurate though. Many of the P Codes will cover several of the OBD-I situations. You cannot reset your Service Engine light from the OBD-II port without a special reset tool but that is very easy using the A/B boxes.

As far as your latch goes, I'll let someone with a wagon answer that one.

Others with locking latch problems have found frayed wires (thus intermittent shorting) in the area where they bend as you open and close the lid. Look on the driver's side corner under the paneling.
