PCV hoses

Post by tiberious1001 »

1996 Volvo 850 2.5 10v petrol non turbo b5252s engine manual air-con.

Not looked at the PCV system on this car before and it's looking a right mess. Different looking PCV system than what I can mostly find on the internet. The flame trap has 2 connectors for one large hose that goes to the oil trap and a much smaller one that currently has nothing attached to it. Is this meant to be connected to the vacuum tree like I've seen on some diagrams?

There is also a knackered looking hose that goes from the same location by the flame trap, to the intake manifold on the other side. One end connected just by plug into the power steering tank and the other end not connected. What is that hose for and what is that hose meant to connect to? It's a smaller hose that looks like it could fit on to the small connector of the flame trap.

Any help would be great,
thanks.
