FCP sells new Nissens radiators for $110. I am tempted to go this route considering the fact that I don't know how old this radiator is and the car has close to 220k miles on it.
I think I drove my glued in radiator stopcock for about 3-4 years

If your car has a turbo I found the inlet charge pipe to the Electronic Throttle Module (ETM) to the intercooler got in the way. You will be able to release the clamp where the pipe connects to the ETM. I used 1/4 inch sockets and extensions on a small 1/4" ratchet. This will allow you to remove the pipe. Why? Because this pipe prevents you from removing and replacing radiator from the top.
Check out this link, scroll towards the bottom. It has some pictures of the clamp and the reposition of the 7mm screw clamp head.

The original is molded as part of the radiator.

If you decide to install a new Barb, use a plastic barb and JB Weld's PlasticWeld. The original JB Weld does not bond well to plastic. Let it cure for 24 - 48 hours.

Thanks for finding this, Rick. But I have since decided to install a new radiator which might still be the original one.

I replaced the radiator yesterday and found something rather unusual. I have to say the PO got really creative. I am a little surprised it lasted this long since I have been driving the car for 2 years now, and who knows how long this was installed before I bought it.

Is that a brass barb , JB welded into the hole on the radiator?

No, it's a regular tire valve. Actual valve part removed.
