SC-810 radio question Topic is solved

I recently bought a used SC-810 radio to replace my old SC-710 radio. SC-710 radio has volume knob issue - either very low volume or very high volume. Volume control is almost not existing. Also, some LEDs are gone.
For SC-810 radio, I have 2 questions:

1) does it have "balance' control ? I could not find this function. In SC-710, "balance control" was part of the Volume knob function.
2) the backlight of LCD display is gone. Can the LCD display be replaced ? If yes then where can I find the part number and any instruction to open up the radio for LCD replacement ?

Thank you so much for the link. So the LCD backlight is not part of the LCD module, it is a separate bulb ?

Would it be easier to upgrade to an SC-815/816 with the tape and single CD player. They have the built in amps. We just has a 50% off at our local PnP and they sell for about $10-15 CDN.

Check with abscate. Chances are he is falling over them!

If you can wield a screw driver, then replacing most of the bulbs in a Volvo radio is not too bad. There are how-to's out there.
Cleaning the cassette heads is not too bad with IPA and cotton buds.

Seriously, check with abscate, he has parted out a few cars so may have a spare kicking around.

I have a few here, but shipping often precludes sending to you.

I just found this video which showed steps by steps to replace the bulbs including the LCD backlight bulb in sc-816. It will be similar to sc-810 or other models.

I had ordered the new bulbs from DigKey. Once they arrive, I will change out all the bulbs.

If I recall, on some of the head units one of the bulbs is for the LED/LCD readout. Seem to recall this required a little more work.
