Have you used this combo before, software and Dice tool?

Try it with the car running, the voltage is stably in range that way, see if it helps.

Yes many times in the past, I have. I have used the combo in the two 01 XC70s.

Though two times back, I noticed the the two 01 XC70s "kept" the same database.
The current reading keeps showing as the reading for any profile I selected.

I think I used it with the car (XC90) running, I always do with the XC70s, to keep the battery juice.

Besides the Fault Trace, what else can I try to see if the car is really connected?

Found the culprit!
I went back to VIDA to check the settings. The wrong region (Partner group) was showing.
As soon as I selected the correct region, Bam, Fault Trace got highlighted under the Diagnostic tab.
So, all is fine now.
Thanks all.
