Thx neil
I got my 70K miles used VIn 56 engine from them
They were mixed yep
told me they did complession check, 150 all across
then worked on the head, alll the convoluted wire wrapping exploded turned into powder so obviously had not been touched, ... so, comp check was a lie
did mu own C. check cold on the bench, all 155 to 160 psi
got partilal refund since I had to do compress check before spending 2000K more on installation
Kenny semi BS blamed the lie on an employee

I have a brother who lives in Santa Rosa. I know there are a couple of Pick and Pull junkyards in the area that seem to have a few Volvos in them. Good place to practice core removal before tackling your own car!

There is also VandSautodismantlers in Sacramento area. Heard good and bad about them. Mostly good.

Good luck!

Neil.

Is the brass adapter just threaded in or is it epoxied or both?

drilled and threads cut with a tap
together with JB weld it will be far more sturdy than the flimsy nipple from the factory

JB weld is probably overkill

If i'm not mistaken It is at the bottom when installed perhaps not exposed

If that is the bottom of the radiator, then that is the drain plug, not a nipple! If there is a drain plug at the opposite corner then all is good.

There is a nipple on some radiators at the top hose that feeds back to the radiator header tank. I was trying to orientate myself relative to the radiator but hard to tell from the picture.

Now its almost fully apart I see that nipple is top passenger side
had to get it apart to tell these engine compartments a jam packed
I think I'll need to trip it shorter close to the length of the V. original length
thank you for all your input
I'm not the least concerned that brass nipple would be a problem
your paragraphs near the top of this thread are super helpful

Just as an aside, if your donor wagon is a vin 56 code, I would question the "R" designation; it won't matter for (most) of the parts you're after.

Thanks foggy, I'll be sure to verify, since the major parts I need are A/C condenser, intercooler, hood , headlights and turn signal(side) lights I think i'm good. I will verify again. Lucky for me the bumper I smacked into was fully above mine so zero involvement of my bumper.

I'm struggling with how to vent the AC system, it is still full of refrigerant. its the major obstacle to readyness to reassemble

Foggy dog as in foggy bottom?? I lived in DC for a short time chasing a female and in Columbia MD while in MD school. Nice area though i'm SF bay area to the bone from birth....

The screen handle is, in fact, derived from a drinking establishment ( one notch below Dive Bar status, RIP ) from that area; I used to work nearby, and the bartenders learned to tolerate us after we arrived from our duties much later than most Adults in Foggy Bottom. And they seemed to like the fact we were not students.
And had real money.
And knew how to tip.
A real "R" will be AWD and a high-pressure turbo, along with some trim and interior details. All the tin and plastic stuff you're after will transfer. The "R" would have a distinctly different front bumper cover as well.
Very odd that the condenser took such a big hit and still has gas integrity; if a careful poke at the Schrader valve shows pressure, you're in a large urban area, there might be some folks offering mobile recovery service, maybe bundled with vacuum draw-down and recharge.

R or not, get those nice Perfo wheels from the blue donor. Good luck with the rehab. I hope the frame is still perfect.
