Deactivate Passneger Airbag - 1996 850 GLT

Does anyone know how to do that? Is it possible at all?
(I do not own one - but intend to buy one next week.)
Thanks.

Can it be done? yes, but I would not advocate doing so.
Check the legal stuff before you do that! You may end up in hot water with your insurance company and/ or a potentially injured passenger should the car be involved in a collision where the air-bag should have deployed but didn't due to being disabled.
In addtition: in their great wisdom the good folks at Volvo set it up so the car performs a SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) self check when you start your car. If any component is disabled, defective or dis-connected, you will get an error code on your OBD II as well as the little warning light on the dash.
Hope this answers your question.

Yes, it does - thoroughly.
Thanks very much for that.
Hope to lay my hand on that car* next week - in which case I'll probably be back with some more questions...
