Rescuing Geronimo the 2000 V70

Checked the stash and found 4 center caps in good condition. I looked on line and you can buy them cheaper than it might cost to ship. EEuroparts has new ones for $12.50 each. One website has an auction for $25 currently.

I checked and supposedly they are all the same for all years of 850 according to Skandix's webpage and Volvo Villa website the part fits 93- cars.

Thanks for checking. I should have been more clear that I have a set of four so don't need them. I'm worried that they'll fall off at some point, so I'll take any spares which I can find cheap or at junkyards. Geronimo needs many other parts as a higher priority.

The caps do appear to be the same for 4 bolt and 5 bolt, part 9140405.

As long as you have the wire they won’t fall off. Check that the plastic supports aren’t cracked and JB weld them if they are, too.

Do we need a heater core for Geromino? I have a couple of used but good on the FDPP

Ok, misread what you wrote as I read you had not got the covers. At least they wheels seem to be left on the cars in your junkyards. Ours here remove all alloy wheels and either sell them direct or move them on to re-sellers.

The heat on Geronimo works well. I haven't checked under the front floor mat for leaking yet. Is it recommended to replace the heater core proactively? Are there good warning signs of it's not leaking? Maybe 350k mi on Geronimo and 200k mi on mine, so I'd like to check them.

If the coolant level isn’t falling I would let it be. I doubt they are original.

Today, Geronimo got its nice set of Cetus wheels with all-season tires. Problem is, the heads on the lug bolts are too tall to fit under the Cetus center caps, designed for the recessed holes of the Antlia wheels. The bolts worked but the wheels look sad with no center caps.

Do the short and tall head lug bolts have the same length of their threaded sections?

I think the short head lug bolts are part 31280299 (was 3546651). I'll be calling my two local Volvo "indoor junkyards" to see if they have a set of 20 I can buy.
