Costco Michelin Wiper Blades $6.99

Post by MoVolvos »

.
Costco currently has Michelin wiper blades on sale. Regardless of vehicle I always go 1" or 2" longer than factory spec, meaning just 0.5 to 1.0 inch longer on each end. The 2000 S70 calls for 21" on both sides and I purchased 22's. The passenger side just misses the edge while the driver's side can accommodate 24" wipers. As long as you wax the windshield the longer blade will not strain the wiper motor.

How often are you changing them out? Annually or when they starts to deteriorate?

I have been happy with the Michelin blades.

However, what I like about them the most is the frame itself. For reasons I can't quite explain, it seems more durable compared to other inexpensive wipers I've tried. They also seem to exert even pressure.
My current goal is to get silicon inserts when they are worn out and keep the frames.

The ones at costo for 6.99 do seem better than the typical blade in this an up to ~15 price range.

Unfortunately, I have returned many Michelin blades to Costco. They do not hold flat to the windshield on their ends and in winter they are worse up here. I buy either box OEM, or Volvo. Fortunately, as we don't tend to get really hot temperatures for long, can't say when I last changed any. I think the new spares I have will have gone rock solid by the time I use them!
