That interior does look like a garage-kept car, the tan interiors don't do well after being in the sun for 25 years or so.Keshavsmith wrote: ↑10 Apr 2023, 18:54 He said they are sensor codes. I’m guessing O2 and maybe the evap thing? ABS obviously is one of them. He says they still drive it everyday. I honestly feel like it’s kismet, because I spent all day at car dealerships and was about to finance a Toyota Highlander this afternoon but they needed paycheck stubs which I didn’t have so I’m supposed to go back in the morning and finish the deal. Then I get home this evening and decide to check marketplace one last time and there it was… I don’t want a Toyota Highlander. I want my old car back. And this is almost the exact same one.
I know male brains will likely not agree with any of this logic but there it is, nonetheless. Ha.
If the Mature (ahem) people in the story are driving it regularly, the oil leak may simply be something they notice dripping on the garage floor; I agree with the others about the light/code comments, knowing the actual trouble code numbers would be helpful.
If the ABS light is shining, that will set a code, and likely means cracked solder joints on the control board, which is very common through '00 as I recall. Rebuilt units are available and the job is a little tedious but not terribly difficult.
It looks like a pretty nice car and the ask seems fair. Keep plugging away at it, you're almost there.
