Can't get drivers side axle out.
I have spent the better part of today trying to get the driver's side axle out of the transmission with no luck. I tried using the nail puller pry bar, a ball joint separator, and a loaner axle proper from AutoZone following instructions from this forum. I tried rotating the axle a bunch of times to different angles, and nothing worked.

Cold chisel wedge between axle and transmission flange. You need to place it carefully so you don’t gouge anything. Get the wedge part stuck between casting and axle and one whack with a 1.5 kg hammer will pop it

You can use a slide hammer and vice grips to clamp onto the inner cup or I found the method is the linked Youtube video interesting; he uses vice grips and the axle itself as the slide hammer. Some axles come out easy and others can be a real pain, just depends on how the circlip holding the axle in place releases. If the spline area beveled edge or the circlip is worn or rusty it doesn't squeeze the circlip inward well enough so the release becomes difficult.02V70 wrote: ↑30 Dec 2023, 22:23 I have spent the better part of today trying to get the driver's side axle out of the transmission with no luck. No to cold chisel.
Knock on following tool and rotate; the circlip needs coercing... it will release; else see this thread viewtopic.php?t=62641

I’ve found two pry tools at once helpful too—seems to keep the shaft/circlip straight in aiding the removal.
