Was driving down the road and hit the curb pretty hard on the passengers side. Blew out both tires and was an INSTANTANEOUS check engine light. Good ol p0112. Never had a problem the sensor the entire time I've had this wagon.
Dang ECU is now reading that the ambient air temp sensor is showing -40°f.
My instrument cluster is reading the temperature correctly.
I checked with a multimeter that I have a solid 5v coming to the sensor-
After I plugged a known good sensor in and back probe I'm still getting around 2v.
I've checked all the grounds with no luck. I know the wires for that sensor in particular go into the fuse box housing but idk where to check from there.
Also I completely disassembled the ecu housing and checked the connections under there as well. If I need to inspect certain pins ect, I'm fully capable. Anyone have any suggestions?

Which sensor did you replace/test?
The MAF sensor also spits out temp data for the engine.

I tested the one at the bumper.
I've seen that the maf is a possibility, and it would make sense kinda since the wires for that sensor run up behind the drivers headlight all the way back to the fuse box

Also this answer in another thread sounds promising: (if it also fits your car)

I does not, I've gone through absolutely all posts on this. Even various wiring diagrams ect. Since I have a 96 I don't have the blue plug at all

Do you have access to vida?
If not, if you can give me more specs of your car, I can post some diagrams and stuff.
for that i need the engine name and if its manual or auto.

Thank you for your efforts!! It's a 1996 850r wagon, i can provide the Vin in a second. I engine swapped and manual swapped it myself. When I cut the PNP switch I made sure to try to cut all the wires at different lengths. If I should check there let me know
(Its funny because I was completely clear of any CEL after the swap [I've engine swapped quite a few times with no issues on p80s] and my problem only showed up the exact moment my rims ate the curb)

Is this the sensor you checked?
you can delete that VIN now if you want.
Vida's telling me its a 850 with a B5234T5 engine, the 850R has a B5234T4 engine tho.
