ECM auto to manual conversion

Post by ztejiou »

I just finished a manual swap of a C70 2.4T 2001 b5244t, but I got stuck with the ECU conversion, I bought the Hilton tuning service approximately 1 month ago, but nothing, they don't even respond to me.
At this frustrating point i have decided to do it myself.
How i can start?
:D

Since these are the pre-facelift ECMs perhaps a used ECM from a manual B5244t(same partnumber and hopefully software updates so that the CAN matrix is the same). Then it needs an immo clone and you will be set.

Try xanthefin as well, seems to be quite knowledgeable about such things.

ME7 has multiple versions yes. Three IMMO software versions alone in ME7 and yours is the old one as its C70 ( up to 2004/5 years ) model using the IMMO3 module and other old tech ( like 900 and 90 series did push longer with older tech when other models did move newer tech ).

I have in mail coming ME7 and Denso actually so i am just starting be there to test couple things.

The Manual / Auto conversion then is not yet been in my sight look whats what. I belief here is example masters like rkam dikidera T5Luke and more.. knowing of those differences or what required. I am not touch the tuning side of the ECM. Just the boring IMMO side. I only familiar Ford EECIV ECM as did do over decade ago disassembly via assembly code and made free tuningpro definitions for it for EU Escorts/others which used Zetec engines. And broke my catalytic converter.

Old ECC, Old IMMO3, CDM etc.. i mean with old tech of that. Its like 99 and 00 years V70. C70 missed the upgrade train of V70 when V70 models moved to P2 platform. This what dikidera did mean i belief of pre facelift ECM's. As long its not Diesel i think ME7 wont cause CAN Bus problems if asking from me.

I am no master, but rkam is. I have only managed to reverse engineer some parts of the Denso software(though his is ME7 which I have no experience with). And even with all experience I have, I am still learning from rkam from things he has said in the very past which I understand only now.

My observation with Denso was(and this is Denso, NA engine, facelift) that the CEM has to be reprogrammed to know the car is a manual, in addition to that, which gearbox it is, this is likely in the config parameters in CEM, but again, this is old pre-facelift stuff and I heard the CEM was not as modular back then.
In my case, using newer ECM software than originally programmed in the car, produces errors from CEM about software mismatch(but CAN matrix is the same).

So yes, if he gets the same ECM, including similar software revision to get matching CAN signals, it may work. As for ABS, I do not know.

It took one of my friends 7 months for Hilton to get his car tuned after a manual swap, even though he paid right when ordering. Unacceptable. Unfortunately, he is basically your only option
