Nope, stays quiet. I have never heard the alarm.
Few things to note:
1. front passenger door contact does not recognize door is closed as the micro switch does not push back enough.
2. Dashboard LED is always dark
3. I can't lock the vehicle with the in car lockbutton. Pins will go down but come back up immediately. Closing with key works fine tho.

The alarm system won't activate if all the doors, hood and hatch aren't detected closed.

Ok, that's consistent then.
I could access the lock and manually put it into "closed" and check if the car activates the alarm.
(Noob question: Is every EU spec '98 V70 equipped with alarm?)
Thx!

I have read this too.
Don't have a spare unfortunately but can obtain tomorrow.

Other things I saw:
VGLA live shows central locking non effective
Immo signal NOK while key is detected in ignition lock

What a powerful tool this is <3

Weird question but do all your lights and turn signals function right when you start the car? If you push the key or shake it will they function if they do not as of now? I know a bad switch can cause these not to turn on. Could you be facing an extreme case?

Lights and signals work good.
Still going to try another ignition switch to be sure.

General question:
Does someone know if I'd need to swap both ECM and IMMO if the Immo Module was shot? (That's what I know)
Or can another IMMO Module be repurposed ?

Thx

I an not sure with EU models as you got shipped keys earlier than us, and with all the updates after 99 that I am familiar with as that is when we got chipped keys. In that case we have to swap everything that stores the Vin#. I'm not sure if the IMMO stores the Vin# or if it just compares info from the key with the ECU. The Vin# in 99 on cars also stored the Vin# in the dash cluster/speedometer cluster on the motherboard. They compare with the ECU too.
When I was having issues with my car, I swapped the cluster from another car. Unfortunately it was a 4 speed auto not 5 speed auto. It made the TCU unhappy. However the car still started so it tells me the IMMO and ECU decide on if the car starts. However, when I tried to use my Vida, it would not connect with the ECU as the Vin# in the cluster did not match.

So in your 98, I am thinking this may be the same. You may be able to keep the cluster, but replace the IMMO and have to have it reprogrammed to the Vin if that can be done. It may require the ECU to have something done, but now I am way out of my knowledge space!

Neil.

10V Engine IMMO3 does not have VIN programmed at all in Engine nor IMMO. I have one of these from 99 year model.

In Scan log i didnt see IMMO Scan. You can send that to my email if feels better.

Good point you noticed from that IMMO Not Okay signal as you checked did VGLA even have IMMO bit set which it didn't. My 10V IMMO3 memory from Fenix 5.2 ECM doesn't have linkage code between IMMO3 and VGLA neither so maybe it is thats why and its normal show then that in Live Data.
