SRS Question

SRS Question

1999 S70 GLT

When I bought this car, they had switched the seats and the SRS light has been on. I now have VIDA/DICE. I connected and selected Erase SRS, however the light is still on. All connections are there and solid. DICE is showing no fault codes


Thoughts?

You need to read the codes first...then clear them.
If problem isn't solved...srs light and codes will appear again.

I am not seeing any codes. When i run diagnostics it comes back and says no codes.

i went out and ran it again.

I have an EVAP DTC, (which I already knew) but no other codes. Ran an erase. SRS light stays on, but no codes.

That is strange that the light is on and no codes. I can only think someone has either fitted something that is not compatible, there is a connector that is corroded or dirty, or something is actually bad. But I would expect all to throw a code though.

the connectors all look clean - like brand new type clean. I can t figure it out. It has to have something to do with the seats being switched.
I will try and take a couple of pictures of the connections under the seats and put them up here.

Had a similar problem on my 2000 S70 GLT SE - SRS light on and code would not clear. What worked for me was to turn the ignition key to the second position and then back off at a comfortable, steady speed 10 times and then leave it in position 2 and clear the codes.. This was with a Youcanic scanner.
