tried this and it did not work. The light is on when I start. then goes off for about a half second and comes back on. no codes.jmartin919 wrote: ↑16 Feb 2025, 07:10 Had a similar problem on my 2000 S70 GLT SE - SRS light on and code would not clear. What worked for me was to turn the ignition key to the second position and then back off at a comfortable, steady speed 10 times and then leave it in position 2 and clear the codes.. This was with a Youcanic scanner.

That's very bazzar that it doesn't set a code. Does Vida/Dice have a page that shows you the status of each component? Perhaps when the PO swapped seats they did not disconect the battery first and that shorted out something in the airbag module (which sits underneath the center console in front of the e-brake).

You could try unplugging that green connector on which ever side is easier (after disconnecting the battery), reconnect the battery and see if sets a code. May have to drive it a few times to set the code not sure. That connector is a little funky to disconnect. There's a thread somewhere on how to do it. I think you squeaze the sides with pliers or something like that.

I had the SRS lights on from the time I bought my car for whatever reason and two indie shops said it was an issue not in their repertoire. Saw somewhere here I believe that by disconnecting and reconnecting those green and pink plugs VERY carefully, follow these instructions (see above) carefully and patiently, with a spritz of electronics cleaner it resolved the issue. My Vida/ Mongoose JLR cable would not read any codes. Finally bought an Autel MD-806(?), which read the codes indicating missing SIP signals or something of that nature, I’ve forgotten off hand. But the Autel also cleared the codes after those green/pink plugs were “exercised” which cleaned them up enough to provide decent electrical contact. Been good for a couple years now. I have hopes the SIP’s would actually work if necessary.
AND DO REMEMBER TO DISCONNECT THE BAT NEG TERMINAL FIRST!,

I gave it a try, but again no difference. I unplugged both seats, sprayed with electronics cleaner and then reassembled.

Did you try unplugging one reconnecting the battery and seeing if it set a code?

Hi Grantkat. Did you confirm your VIDA/DICE is communicating with your SRS module? I have VIDA w/JLR Mongoose cable which I was assured would read SRS codes by Diagnostic Laptops but it wouldn’t even communicate with the SRS module. When plugged in to the car and scanning for codes VIDA showed SRS module as red on the network diagram and said “no communication” when prompted for SRS status. So, big red SRS light on the dash and no indication from VIDA as to the problem. So after spending $$$ on the VVIDA setup I spent another$160 (on sale 20% off on Amazon that day)on an Autel MD806 which could read the codes. They came back as SRS-412 Permanent Fault and SRS-422 Intermittent Fault. It could also reset the SRS light. So by unplugging and replugging those two pink/green connectors under the seats numerous times (5 or more perhaps) in and out,in and out, I was able to clean those contacts off enough to restore an adequate connection. ‘Precopster(?)’ was a proponent of this technique claiming success with it and it has worked for me. A year and a half now since, so all is good I hope.
I’m willing to ship you my Autel with a return label included if you don’t have someone nearby who might loan you a capable reader. You can push those plugs in and out all day long but you need to read and clear those codes to see if you’re winning , ..obviously. So let me know. Happy to see it help out someone else.
