Problem solved today. Turns out the TRQ CV shafts I installed are not tapped as deep as the originals. So when I torqued the shaft bolts at the wheel hub they were bottoming out, allowing the shaft to slide back about 1 cm — just far enough the sensor was not picking up the tone wheel. Ugh. I had checked bolt torque but never gave the shaft a pull for any slack…br0dy519 wrote: 19 Jan 2026, 11:35 Biggest problem in your list is the wheel sensor. Likely a $10 tone ring or you could replace the full CV.
Interesting the CV shafts were put in 5000 miles ago and this just cropped up. They do not come with bolts so I reused the old ones. Shorter 10.9 flanged bolts from my farm supply store 2 miles away and it is sorted.
I also identified my liftgate root cause. Cable that attaches to the latch mechanism was broke so $85 eBay replacement on order.
A spare key is most painful…covered here on the forum ad nauseam…$440 for a fob or $113 for a valet key PLUS $224 to program either one. With an AirTag on the only functional key I may roll the dice. Just can’t swallow $337 for a spare key on a $1500 vehicle.
