If one of your coils stopped working- replace them all with quality units.(the rest is usually keep breaking shortly) Yes, it is an investment, but if you will consider cost of towing, damage from possible misfire..it will be cheap.

I always keep a spare/new coil pack on hand (Bosch). Within the past year, I've replaced 3 of the 5 coils.
Seems to be running much better now, but I will be shocked if the P0101 completely goes away as it has been a recurring issue for several months now.

Your experience is not unique. Thats why I am a strong proponent of replacing spark plugs every 30k and replacing all coil packs every 100k. Cpil pack is a wear item. Things like improperly gapped spark plugs make them work "harder", heat from top of the engine sealed with plastic cover also contributes to untimely demise. Add to that worm brittle wires that are "living on a prayer" and broken connectors to coil packs..Of money permits, it is easier to do this job once and have a piece of mind(with a spare coil pack in the trunk)

Well, not sure what else to do at this point. P0101 comes back almost daily. Runs OK even when the code pops up, so maybe I just need to live with it. And clear the code when I get tired of seeing it. Ordered a new Bosch MAF as a last resort.

vida can monitor 6 seperate parameters as you drive, misfire count, fuel trims, fuel pressure, would be a good start.
it can also monitor turbo boost under acceleration.

QUICK UPDATE

Still running strong, despite periodic P0101 recurring every few days. Instead of immediately clearing it, I've just ignored it and eventually it goes away. Then comes back, then goes away. As long as the car runs smoothly, I'm just ignoring it and maybe the computer will find some way to grasp AI through the ether and figure out that it's not worth throwing me codes any more unless necessary.
