I assume that bought the kit? It replaces the pump element inside of the OEM assembly. There are two lines on the assembly - one line is supply and the other is return.

Hello Lee,

the pump I have bought is not the OEM one. the brand is TRV it was stated on E-bay that its compatible with 850 but it feels like its not especially I cannot see the second pipe fitting.. if its not going to fit I will look for the bosch one..

thanks

The second line doesn't go to the pump element itself. What you are going to need to do is remove the OEM pump "assembly" - which does have two lines going to it - and then replace the pump itself inside of that "assembly". Hopefully they also sent a piece of fuel line, a couple of hose clamps, a wiring pigtail, and a new filter sock. I'm not familiar with that brand so I don't know what they send. If not clean up the sock the best you can and figure out a way to fit the new pump into the old "assembly".

The fuel pump output line only goes to the supply side line on the "assembly", the return line just basically dumps the unused gas from the fuel rail back into the gas tank.

I hope that makes sense. I think once you get the "assembly" out it will be apparent to you.

Hello again Lee,

now I'm confused more.. I dont understand why there isnt a second fitting on the pump.. I think I will give up doing this job because it might be becoming a real mess. it appears like I will have to buy the original pump later.

thanks for your comments and help..

As usual - pictures speak 1000 words. I knew I had seen a writeup somewhere.

Good find Jim.

Hello again,

I have been depressurizing the fuel system and removed the wiring harness of the pump and removed the pipes however I couldnt remove the retaining nut on the pump.. I know that a special tool is required for it but as usual I dont have it also is there another alternative method for removing the retaining nut on the pump housing? I have been looking in the repair database of the forum and a member named Luketrash has a post for how to remove the pump but I couldnt exactly see what he used to remove the nut on the pump housing..

any help will be appreciated..

If I recall correctly, it was an oil filter wrench, one that looks like a large set of pliars.
